An Assistant Manager of Marketing based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, with a requirement for 2 to 3 months of initial training in Kuala Lumpur (KL), typically involves supporting regional sales and marketing strategies, managing local campaigns, and aligning branch operations with company headquarters.

Job Overview & Structure

• Location: Permanent base in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; initial onboarding/training in Kuala Lumpur (2–3 months).
• Core Goal: Drive brand visibility, execute marketing campaigns, and support sales targets across East Malaysia.
• Reporting To: Marketing Manager or Branch Director.

Key ResponsibilitiesCampaign & Market Execution

• Plan and execute local marketing strategies, promotional activities, and product launches tailored to the Sabah market.
• Coordinate digital marketing initiatives, social media management, and offline brand activations.
• Gather market intelligence, consumer feedback, and competitor analysis to report back to HQ. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Team Support & Operations

• Assist the manager in tracking marketing budgets, expenses, and ROI reports.
• Liaise between the KL headquarters and the Kota Kinabalu branch to ensure brand guidelines and campaigns are implemented uniformly.
• Supervise promotional staff or local marketing executives as required.

Training Phase in Kuala Lumpur (2–3 Months)

• Company Immersion: Learn corporate brand culture, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and core product lines directly at the HQ.
• Cross-Departmental Shadowing: Work alongside the central marketing, digital, and sales teams in KL to understand campaign workflows.
• Readiness: Prepare to transition back to Sabah to independently lead or assist regional marketing operations.
