IQC Inspector – Incoming Quality Control Inspector

Job Summary
Perform hands-on inspection and testing of incoming materials, components, and purchased parts against approved specifications, drawings, and sampling plans, ensuring only conforming materials are released to production or inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts according to inspection standards, work instructions, and sampling plans (AQL).
• Perform dimensional, visual, functional, and appearance checks using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and test equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection checklists.
• Record inspection results accurately in inspection reports and quality systems; maintain lot traceability.
• Make Accept/Reject decisions within defined authority; identify and segregate nonconforming materials with proper labeling and status tags.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and notify the supervisor/SQE for disposition.
• Conduct first-article inspection (FAI) on new or changed parts as required.
• Maintain inspection tools and gauges; ensure equipment is within calibration validity and report any abnormalities.
• Support stock screening, sorting, and re-inspection activities when quality issues arise.
• Keep the inspection area clean and organized (5S) and follow EHS and QMS (ISO 9001/IATF 16949) requirements.

Qualifications (typical)

• High school diploma / vocational certificate; technical diploma preferred.
• 1–2 years of incoming inspection or QC experience in manufacturing.
• Able to use basic measurement tools and read engineering drawings.
• Familiar with AQL sampling and inspection record keeping.
• Detail-oriented, patient, and able to follow procedures strictly.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and report writing.
