Job Description & Key Responsibilities

• Over-Water DC & MV Systems Supervision: Manages field electrical installation for the 307.5MWp DC floating solar array, covering 400,512 PV modules, 16,831 strings, 1,500V DC harness cabling, and string inverter arrays (31 units).
• Dynamic Cable & Tray Management: Supervises the routing and installation of over-water dynamic cabling, floating cable trays, flexing cable loops between pontoon islands, and shoreline cable landing transitions.
• Floating Substation & RMU Integration: Coordinates the installation and cabling connections of 33kV Ring Main Units (RMUs) and floating transformer stations located across the water body.
• Floating Earthing & Equipotential Bonding: Oversees the installation of pontoon equipotential bonding, floating earthing meshes, and lightning protection systems across the reservoir surface in accordance with IEEE/IEC standards.
• ITP & Quality Testing: Conducts field Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) protocols for floating array DC insulation resistance, string Open Circuit Voltage ($V_{oc}$) and Short Circuit Current ($I_{sc}$) checks, IV curve tracing, and inverter pre-commissioning.
• Synergy with Chinese Technicians: Works directly with Chinese Project Technicians to perform floating array mechanical completion checks and electrical system integration prior to energization.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia - BEM).
• Professional Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in solar PV electrical engineering, with specific hands-on experience in floating solar PV (FPV) dynamic cabling or large-scale utility solar DC/MV systems.
• Technical Standards: Strong understanding of 1,500V DC system architecture, IEC 62738 (design guidelines for solar PV plants), IEC 60364-7-712, and cable derating methodologies using CYMCAP for over-water/conduit installations.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia for daily multi-tier worker supervision and technical submittal reporting.

Project Engineer (Electrical Interconnection Facilities (IF) & Plant Substation)

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

• Plant Substation (PSS) Scope Execution: Leads physical site execution for the 33/275kV Plant Substation (PSS), including the Main Power Transformer, 275kV Outdoor Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS) / Indoor Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS), 33kV GIS switchboards, and auxiliary transformers.
• Interconnection Facilities (IF) & Overhead Lines (OHL): Manages the 275kV transmission line routing, Loop-In Loop-Out (LILO) grid connection works, and Point of Interconnection (POI) interfaces up to the utility gantry.
• Substation SCMS & Protection Control: Oversees the installation and testing of Substation Control & Monitoring Systems (SCMS), cybersecurity architecture, Power Quality Monitoring (PQM) panels, and protection relay panels.
• Earthing Grid Verification: Verifies main substation earthing grid installation using CYMGRD/CDEGS software calculations (IEEE 80 compliance for touch/step potential and total grid resistance below 0.5 ohms).
• Utility & Grid Authority Liaison: Serves as the technical interface with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) for grid connection approvals, Interconnection Operation Manual (IOM) compliance, and Grid Code verification.
• Energization & Testing Support: Manages High Voltage (HV) testing, protection relay coordination testing, and system energization leading to the Initial Operation Date (IOD) and Commercial Operation Date (COD).Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (registered with BEM as a Graduate/Professional Engineer).
• Professional Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in High Voltage (HV/EHV) substation construction (132kV / 275kV) and utility grid interconnection in Malaysia.
• Utility Competency: Deep working knowledge of TNB Transmission System standards, the Malaysian Grid Code / Distribution Code, and Suruhanjaya Tenaga guidelines for utility-scale plant interconnections.
• Software & Testing Standards: Familiarity with IEC 61850 substation automation protocols, protection coordination, ETAP/DigSILENT simulation outputs, and CYMGRD grounding designs.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
