Jawatan Kosong Chemist in Johor

Position Summary

The incumbent’s role is to organize and execute R&D and related activities at the plant for cementitious (mineral) and paint portfolio.

Assist R&D Manager in developing and delivering the company's R&D roadmap and quality management system.

The incumbent is to ensure the qualities of product produced to meet the expectation of the customers. Involvement R&D works for other portfolios of paint/epoxy and minerals might be required from time to time.

Supervisory Role

• To collaborate across different department such as operations, Logistics and development vendors to meet R&D goals.
• Provide technical and product application training and coaching to sales and marketing team members and other staff to support successful implementation of agreed sales and marketing plans.
• Liaise with internal technical and laboratory functional areas to meet project and team objectives.
• Supervise, train and mentor QC technicians and laboratory / R&D staff.
• Assist R&D Manager in coordinating and supervising the implementation of ISO throughout the organization.

Functional Role

• Participates in developing quality control procedures for manufacturing of products.
• Creates a safe working environment by following all safety regulations, rules and policies.
• Leads projects using best practices for project management along with the ability to transition products from development to production/operations. Ensures that project goals are accomplished on schedule, within budget, and are successfully completed. Adheres to current processes; and identifies / recommends improvements to current practices as well as handling escalated issues as needed.
• Drives business growth and success through timely execution of projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Confirms product performance by reviewing project specs, designing/ conducting research/tests, reporting/documenting test results and ensuring validation process is recorded for future use.
• Communicates to stakeholders regularly by sharing information, creating technical reports and delivering presentations; participates in meetings as a knowledgeable senior team member.
• Support in the laboratory and sampling scheduling and prioritization of activities for R&D and QC projects.

Skills and Attributes required

Academic Qualification :

• Bachelor Degree in Chemistry/Civil Engineering; or Equivalent; or
• Master’s Degree and PhD in Related Studies

Professional Experience :

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and expertise in cement, concrete, flooring products and other construction materials; or
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Lab & Quality Management or similar environment; or
• Fresh Graduate with Master’s or PhD in research in Chemistry/Civil Engineering

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:

• Expertise related to emerging trends in cementitious composites
• Expertise related to emerging trends in paints/epoxy
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and ISO procedures
• SAP & Office 365
• Problem solving & communication skills
