Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Production Engineer at PGEO Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (A Member of Wilmar International Group of Companies) in Pasir Gudang.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering field
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
• 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, palm oil, oleochemical, or process plant environment is an advantage
• Engineering drawings (P&ID, piping layout)
• Manufacturing or plant operations (preferred but not required)
• Knowledge in edible oil processing, refining, consumer packing processes is an added advantage.
• Willing to learn and work in a site-based industrial environment
• Good attitude, proactive, and able to work in a team
• Strong interest in project management, particularly in planning, execution and commissioning.

Job Responsibilities

Project Support & Costing

• Assist in preparing project cost estimates and budget tracking

Vendor & Tender Support

• Assist in issuing RFQs to suppliers and contractors
• Support evaluation of technical and commercial proposals
• Participate in tender discussions and vendor clarification meetings

Engineering & Design Support

• Assist in reviewing and preparing:
• P&ID (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams)
• Basic piping layout drawings and equipment arrangement
• Work with draftsmen and engineers on plant layout updates
• Support preparation of Bill of Quantities (BQ) for equipment and piping

Project Execution & Site Work

• Support monitoring of civil, mechanical, piping, and electrical site activities
• Assist in preparing monthly project progress reports
• Participate in site visits and contractor coordination meetings
• Support project troubleshooting and issue follow-ups

Documentation & Compliance

• Assist in preparing DOE and regulatory submission documents
• Support documentation for project approvals and permits
• Ensure proper filing of project records and technical documents

Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams
• Assist in resolving site issues under guidance from senior engineers
• Support communication between engineering, procurement, and site teams

Commissioning Support

• Assist in plant commissioning activities and testing
• Support handover documentation and post-installation checks
• Support preparation of CAPEX / AFCE documentation
• Help monitor project spending against budget
