Job Description

Thermo Scientific Microbiology Sdn Bhd under Microbiology Division in Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a suitable candidate for a Facility Engineer role.

Responsibilities:

This role will be strategic in our commercial office in the Thermo Scientific Microbiology Melaka Plant as follows.

• Support day-to-day facilities operations and maintenance activities.
• Work closely with key functional customers based in the Thermo Scientific Microbiology Melaka Plant.
• Liaise with the landlord on estate management matters.
• Maintain drawings for workplace layout, mechanical & electrical.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to identify, select, and handle contractors for the execution of facilities maintenance, improvement works, and new/existing leasehold improvement activities, as well as the annual power shutdown by the landlord.
• Plan, establish, and lead improvement initiatives with good collaboration with EHS and other functions.
• Plan, support, and establish projects to improve facilities, upgrade infrastructure, etc.
• Seek approvals from the landlord for leasehold improvements.
• Work with Shah Alam REFM lead to prepare the annual operation budget plan.
• Work with the facilities coordinator to run general administrative services, including cleaning, housekeeping, meeting & event support, & office supplies.

Handle security service, including access control and CCTV.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in engineering or related field, and/or Facilities Management Certificate.

Experience

• Demonstrates more than 3 years of shown experience in facility management.
• Familiar with HVAC and M&E systems in the manufacturing plant (health care industries and clean room operation are advantages).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Highly effective social skills and presentation skills.
• Ability to use ACAD drawings.
• Ability to lead a small team of technical & outsourced personnel.
• Be a change agent and lead change.
• Have a continuous improvement demeanour.
• Hands-on skills are advantageous.
