Jawatan Kosong Truck Driver / Tractor-Trailer Driver OCN in George Town

This Opportunity

Seeking a full-time Truck Driver / Tractor-Trailer Driver (OCN) in support of Base Operations Services (BOS) and Mission Support Services (MSS) at Ascension Auxiliary Air Field (AAAF). Your Impact

The Driver/Operator drives Tanker trucks, trailer trucks, MHE equipment, Airfield equipment, Shipboard equipment, and transport/ deliver fuel while on Ascension Island.

Major Job Activities:

• Drives all vehicles on Ascension Island.
• May also load or unload truck with or without helpers.
• Makes minor mechanical repairs and keeps vehicles in good working order.
• May grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment.
• Operates vehicles and loads trucks on Ascension Island.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Material & Equipment Directly Used:

• Small hand tools, grease, pallet jacks, jacks, and all MHE material and equipment.

Working Environment:

• The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
• The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Physical Activities:

• Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
• Balancing. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date.
• Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date
• Must be able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.
• Must meet United States Department of Defense medical requirements necessary to live and work at Ascension Island
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

Additional Required Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

Two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience desired.
• Preferred Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)Fuel Endorsements.
• Must be able to pass the Flight Line Drivers course.

Experience / Skills:

• Two years’ experience as a driver/operator commercial.
• Preferred current 40hr. Hazwopper cert. with a minimum of 6 months remaining validity.
• Must comply with published Company work rules and Government Regulations
• Must understand, read, write, and speak English.

Supervisory / Budget Responsibilities:

• As needed
