About the Role

MOMOYO Malaysia is looking for a driven and proactive Management Trainee – Business Development to join our Business Development team.

This role is designed for an ambitious individual who is interested in building a career in F&B business development, franchise expansion and commercial growth. You will gain hands-on exposure to market research, business development, franchisee engagement, sales activities and new outlet expansion.

You will work closely with the Business Development team and other internal departments to identify new business opportunities and support MOMOYO's continued growth in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Market Expansion

• Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities for MOMOYO.
• Conduct market research on F&B trends, consumer preferences, competitors and potential business locations.
• Support the team in developing strategies to expand MOMOYO's presence across Malaysia.
• Identify potential franchisees, business partners and commercial opportunities.

2. Lead Generation & Client Engagement

• Assist in generating and following up with potential franchisees and business partners.
• Communicate with potential clients to understand their business interests, investment plans and requirements.
• Arrange meetings, presentations and site visits with potential franchise partners.
• Maintain good relationships with existing and potential business partners.

3. Franchise Development

• Assist the Business Development team throughout the franchise development process, from initial enquiry to agreement and outlet opening.
• Support the preparation and presentation of franchise-related information to potential franchisees.
• Follow up on potential franchise opportunities and maintain an updated business development pipeline.
• Coordinate with internal teams and franchise partners to ensure smooth progress of each project.

4. New Outlet & Expansion Support

• Assist with site visits and preliminary location assessments for potential MOMOYO outlets.
• Coordinate with relevant internal teams during the pre-opening and outlet setup process.
• Follow up on project timelines, documentation and required actions until outlet opening.
• Support the team in ensuring new outlets are aligned with MOMOYO's business and brand requirements.

5. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare regular reports on business development activities, leads, prospects and project progress.
• Track and analyse market and competitor information.
• Assist in preparing business proposals, presentations and other relevant materials.
• Provide market feedback and insights to support business decisions.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance and other departments to support business expansion activities.
• Assist in resolving issues and following up on action items related to business development projects.
• Take on additional projects and responsibilities as part of the Management Trainee development programme.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality, F&B Management or a related field.
• Approximately 1 year of working experience in Business Development, Sales, Marketing, F&B, Retail, Hospitality or a related field.
• Fresh graduates with strong internship experience and relevant academic background may also be considered.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident in communicating with clients, business partners and internal stakeholders.
• Proactive, ambitious and willing to learn.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and growth-oriented F&B environment.
• Good command of English and Mandarin. Other languages are an added advantage.
• Willing to travel for business meetings, site visits and other business development activities when required.
• Candidates with experience in F&B, retail, franchise, sales or business development will have an added advantage.
