Jawatan Kosong Infection Control & Audit Executive at REN Wellness Retreat in Subang Jaya

The Infection Control & Audit Executive is responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring, and sustaining infection prevention and control practices within the Nursing Care Centre. The role ensures compliance with CKAPS requirements and promotes a safe, hygienic, and well-managed care environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Pre-Opening Infection Control Set-Up & Readiness

For the Pre-opening and first-year phases, her/his roles are as follows:

The Executive shall lead the design and implementation of the infection control framework prior to opening of the Centre.

Key Responsibilities

· Establish Centre-Wide Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) policies and SOPs in line with CKAPS requirements.

· Develop SOPs for:

- Cleaning and disinfection of rooms, furniture, equipment, and high-touch surfaces.

- Waste management and linen handling.

- Hand hygiene and PPE usage.

· Review and approve cleaning agents, disinfectants, and detergents proposed by housekeeping vendors for suitability and efficacy.

· Evaluate and recommend infection-control products, equipment, and resources.

· Collaborate with Nursing, Housekeeping, F&B, and Maintenance teams to ensure IPC considerations are embedded into workflows.

· Conduct pre-opening infection control risk assessment of the facility, including:

- Resident rooms

- Treatment areas

- Kitchen and food handling areas

- Bathrooms and common spaces

· Establish infection control documentation, audit tools, and reporting formats.

2. Infection Control Training & Competency Development

(Pre-Opening & Ongoing)

Key Responsibilities

· Design and deliver structured Infection Control training programmes for:

- Nurses

- Personal Care Assistants

- Housekeeping staff

- Auxiliary and support staff

· Conduct mandatory IPC orientation for all newly hired staff.

· Develop competency checklists and conduct skills validation for:

- Hand hygiene

- PPE usage

- Cleaning and disinfection practices

- Waste and linen handling

· Address gaps in knowledge due to evolving healthcare and regulatory standards

3. Infection Surveillance, Monitoring & Audit

(Operational Phase)

Key Responsibilities

· Implement infection surveillance systems to identify, monitor, and trend infection risks.

- Environmental cleaning

- PPE usage

- Isolation precautions

· Evaluate housekeeping and auxiliary staff competency in cleaning and disinfection processes.

· Assess kitchen hygiene, food handling, and food transportation practices for residents

· Provide audit findings, corrective actions, and improvement recommendations to the Director of Nursing.

4. Clinical Collaboration & Resident Safety

(Clinical Governance Role)

Key Responsibilities

· Work closely with the Medical Officer and nursing team on resident care plans involving:

- Barrier nursing

- Isolation or reverse isolation

- Outbreak containment strategies

· Provide infection control guidance during wound care, invasive procedures, and post-hospitalization care

· Support decision-making during suspected or confirmed infectious disease cases.

5. Outbreak Management & Incident Response

(High-Risk / Critical Situations)

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and coordinate infection outbreak management, including:

- Early detection and notification

- Containment and control measures

- Investigation of root causes

· Advise management on immediate and preventive strategies.

· Ensure proper documentation and reporting of outbreaks.

· Update staff promptly on revised IPC measures during outbreaks.

6. Continuous Improvement & Reporting

(Quality & Governance)

Key Responsibilities

· Continuously update staff knowledge through refresher training and briefings.

· Review and update IPC policies and SOPs periodically.

· Provide regular reports to the Director of Nursing on:

- Training outcomes

- Audit results

- Compliance levels

- Identified risks and mitigation plans

7. Additional & Supportive Duties

(As Required)

· Serve as clinical support during staffing shortages when required, maintaining familiarity with staff nurse duties.

· Provide infection-specific care guidance when deployed to specialized areas.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by Management in line with professional scope.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

1. QUALIFICATION : Diploma in Nursing or equivalent

Advanced Diploma in Infection Prevention and Conrol

Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board

Possess current Annual Practicing Certificate

Working experiences > 3 years of experience in the Infection Control field. Best with training certificates of Infection Control Management.

2. KNOWLEDGE : Professional nursing theory and practice

3. SKILLS : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

4. ATTITUDE : Committed and passionate about the rehabilitation & rejuvenation concept.

Demonstrate experience in developing and implementing healthcare training packages.
