Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost codes and financial records.
• Monitor project costs and expenditure against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
• Track project costs including materials, labour, subcontractors, equipment and other project-related expenses.
• Monitor project revenue, progress claims, billing, collections and retention sums.
• Prepare project profitability reports, budget-versus-actual analysis and variance reports.
• Prepare project cost forecasts and monitor cost-to-complete and projected profitability.
• Monitor variation orders, claims and other commercial matters affecting project financial performance.
• Assist with project cash flow monitoring and monthly financial reporting.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement and other departments on project financial matters.
• Ensure accurate cost allocation, proper documentation and compliance with accounting policies.
• Highlight financial risks, cost pressures and potential project issues to management.
• Assist with month-end closing, WIP, accruals, audits and other project accounting matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the construction, engineering or project-based industry.
• Experience in project accounting, project costing or project financial reporting is preferred.
• Familiarity with progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor costs, retention, WIP and cost-to-complete will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both Finance and non-Finance teams.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
