Job Summary:

The Recovery Support Coach plays a vital role in supporting individuals recovering from substance use disorders. This position is responsible for providing peer-based recovery support, mentoring, advocacy, and assistance in navigating systems of care. The Recovery Support Coach works closely with clients, clinical staff, and community resources to help individuals maintain long-term recovery and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build supportive, peer-based relationships with clients in recovery.
• Assist clients in identifying strengths, setting recovery goals, and developing individualized recovery plans.
• Provide mentorship and guidance using lived experience in recovery.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery-oriented support groups, educational sessions, or workshops.
• Support clients in accessing services such as housing, employment, healthcare, and legal aid.
• Help clients develop skills in coping, communication, relapse prevention, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain clear, respectful boundaries and adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality policies.
• Work collaboratively with counselors, case managers, and medical staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Document client interactions and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
• Promote and model wellness, recovery, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field (preferred).Dip in Psychology or Bachelor of Psychology
• Certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS)
• Strong understanding of 12-step and other recovery support models.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic health records.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,800.00 per month

Work Location: In person
