Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Technician to join our team in Malaysia. The technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of mechanical and electrical systems and machinery. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently to meet operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical systems to ensure smooth production and minimize downtime.
• Repair Work: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on various equipment and machinery.
• Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery or system upgrades.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements, using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all maintenance activities meet company standards and comply with safety regulations.
• Inventory Management: Assist in managing the inventory of spare parts and ensure tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and production teams to minimize disruptions and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Compliance: Follow all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties.

Key Requirements

• Education:
• Diploma or certificate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a technician role within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, meters, and calibration equipment.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work is primarily conducted in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• The role requires standing, walking, and lifting of heavy parts/equipment regularly.
• Availability for overtime and on-call support in case of emergency repairs.
