Jawatan Kosong STAFF NURSE in Putrajaya

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients attending the GP clinic. The role includes assisting doctors during consultations and procedures, performing nursing procedures, administering medications and treatments, maintaining accurate patient records, supporting clinic operations, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Welcome and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Perform patient assessment and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, and weight.
• Obtain relevant medical history and communicate significant findings to the doctor.
• Assist patients before, during, and after medical consultations and procedures.
• Provide appropriate nursing care and patient education.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly inform the doctor when necessary.

Clinical Duties

• Assist doctors with consultations, minor procedures, wound care, dressings, injections, and other clinic procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and treatments safely and accurately.
• Carry out ECG, urine testing, blood glucose testing, and other basic clinical investigations as required.
• Perform wound dressing and other basic nursing procedures.
• Prepare patients and equipment for minor procedures.
• Observe patients after procedures or treatments and report any adverse reactions promptly.
• Provide health education and explain basic treatment or medication instructions as directed by the doctor.

Medication and Equipment Management

• Check medication stock, expiry dates, storage conditions, and availability.
• Maintain appropriate records for medications and clinical supplies.
• Ensure emergency drugs and equipment are available and ready for use.
• Handle medical equipment safely and report faulty or damaged equipment.

Infection Control

• Follow proper hand hygiene and infection-control practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and appropriate disinfection of clinical areas and equipment.
• Dispose of sharps and clinical waste according to applicable procedures and regulations.
• Follow the clinic's infection prevention and occupational safety policies.

Documentation and Clinic Administration

• Maintain complete and accurate nursing and patient records.
• Document treatments, procedures, medications, and relevant observations promptly.
• Assist with patient registration, appointment flow, and other clinic duties when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
• Assist with stock inventory and ordering of nursing and medical supplies.

Emergency Care

• Recognize and respond promptly to medical emergencies within the clinic.
• Provide basic emergency care and Basic Life Support (BLS) within the scope of training.
• Assist the doctor in emergency management and arrange transfer to a hospital when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board (Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia).
• Possess a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC), where applicable.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
• Additional relevant nursing or clinical certifications are an advantage.

Experience

• Previous experience in a GP clinic, outpatient clinic, hospital, or primary-care setting is preferred.
• Fresh nursing graduates with the appropriate registration and practising requirements may be considered.
