Jawatan Kosong Accounting Executive in Alor Setar

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting Executive to join SPACE UP DESIGN SDN. BHD. in Alor Setar, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and compliance of our organisation. As an Accounting Executive, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the wider finance team in delivering reliable financial information. This role is essential to our business operations, providing the foundation upon which sound financial decision-making is built.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and processing financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense claims in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintaining general ledger accounts and reconciling account balances on a monthly basis
• Preparing bank reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies promptly
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including payment processing and invoice follow-ups
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Supporting the audit process by compiling and organising financial documentation
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company financial policies
• Managing petty cash and cash float records
• Performing data entry and maintaining accurate financial records in accounting software systems
• Liaising with internal departments and external parties on accounting and financial matters

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably in a small to medium-sized practice or organisation
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to identify discrepancies
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Reliability and a commitment to meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and GST procedures is an advantage
• Professional certification such as an AAT or ACCA qualification in progress is preferable
